In a major breakthrough, Sharjah Police have dismantled an international drug trafficking network operating between Canada and Spain, seizing a total of 131 kilograms of narcotics and psychotropic substances—a wide-reaching operation from Toronto to Spain and through the UAE coastline. Seven suspects have been arrested within the UAE, including an Arab national who allegedly involved his wife and two children in concealing the drugs. Authorities uncovered a maritime trafficking route that concealed narcotics within a container of automotive spare parts shipped to a UAE port. During the investigation, police discovered nearly 9,945 narcotic capsules along with bulk shipments. Anti narcotics teams executed precise ambushes and monitored the suspects’ coordinated operational meetings before making arrests. The operation also detained five Asian-national suspects involved in promoting and distributing the drugs. The main Arab suspect admitted to using his family to avoid detection. The entire case file has been referred to judicial authorities. The UAE’s Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with international counterparts, said it continues to pursue remaining network members outside the country and finalize legal actions against this global criminal organization.
