Sharjah Police detect two new synthetic cannabinoids
The forensic laboratory of Sharjah Police discovered two new forms of synthetic cannabis disguised in cosmetic packaging. This accomplishment was the culmination of the work teams' efforts to stay up with the rapid advancements in the world of producing and spreading narcotics, following the Ministry of Interior's strategic goal of boosting the country's security and safety. To that end, the work teams conducted the fundamental analyses, experiments, and research activities, employing the most recent scientific and technical approaches and an up-to-date database. "Synthetic cannabinoids, which are human-made synthetic compounds prepared in secret laboratories, are 80-100 per cent more effective than hashish and can cause death to the users," Colonel Eng. Adel Ahmed Al Mazmi, Acting Head of the Forensic Laboratory, said. Al Mazmi emphasized Sharjah Police's forensic laboratory's readiness and commitment to combat drug trafficking and deal with any developments to prevent the spread of these synthetic cannabinoids.
