Sharjah Police to intensify patrols to catch violators during Ramadan

DUBAI – Sharjah Police will deploy more than 200 police patrol cars across the emirate to catch violators during Ramadan. According to police, 245 patrol units will monitor residential, industrial and other public areas to ensure that the public is following Covid-19 precautionary measures. Sharjah announced new rules last month, including banning community iftars in the emirate. As part of safety measures against the spread of Covid-19, the public is also expected to continue wearing face masks and observe social distancing. Authorities are also restricting events this Ramadan, and the traditional firing of cannons will only be done in the Al Majaz Waterfront. Beggars and illegal vendors will be arrested, according to police. The public is urged to report violators through the hotlines 901 or 80040. ICA/Expat Media
