Sharjah Police recently rescued a seriously injured motorcyclist after a crash in the Rafadah desert in Sharjah's Al Madam area. The incident took place on Friday (November 8), with the Central Operations Room receiving a distress call at 12:28pm reporting the crash. In response, specialized police teams, supported by the National Search and Rescue Centre, rushed to the scene. The motorcyclist, identified as an Asian national, was immediately airlifted to Al Dhaid Hospital for medical treatment. Police did not disclose further details about the injuries sustained. Sharjah Police has urged the public to follow safety protocols when engaging in desert activities, highlighting the dangers of venturing into isolated areas without necessary precautions. Police spokespersons emphasized that desert terrains, especially those far from emergency access, can pose significant risks for motorcyclists. The police are particularly focused on raising awareness about the importance of safe riding practices and avoiding risky areas, especially in the UAE’s expansive desert environment.
