Sharjah Police have reunited a mother and her son after more than 12 years of complete separation, bringing closure to a long and emotional search that began shortly after the child’s birth. The mother, who recently returned to the UAE, had been unable to locate her son for years following escalating family disputes that forced her to leave the country in 2013. After separating from her husband and losing her source of income, she returned home with no way to contact her child. For over a decade, she tried unsuccessfully to learn about his living conditions, health, and education. After exhausting all options abroad, she returned to the UAE hoping for help. She approached Sharjah Police, who launched an immediate search supported by a specialized team of social workers. The team verified the young man’s identity, current location, and welfare. Following intensive efforts completed in record time, authorities organized the long-awaited reunion between mother and son—marking the end of years of emotional hardship. Brigadier Ahmed Al Marri, Director of the Community Protection and Prevention Department, said the case reflects the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian values. He praised the team’s professionalism, saying: “Restoring hope and ending human suffering represent one of Sharjah Police’s most important missions.” Sharjah Police emphasized in a statement that human beings remain at the center of the UAE leadership’s priorities.
