Sharjah Police has confiscated 19 vehicles and motorcycles involved in dangerous stunts that posed serious risks to public safety. The reckless driving incidents were reported across various roads in the emirate, prompting authorities to take immediate action against the violators. According to the Sharjah Police General Directorate, the individuals responsible for these stunts were apprehended, and legal measures are being taken against them under the UAE Traffic Law. The police emphasized that such reckless behavior not only endangers the drivers but also puts the lives of other road users at risk. Under the UAE Traffic Law, those caught engaging in such activities face a fine of up to Dh3,000, 23 traffic points, and the impoundment of their vehicle for 90 days. The release of impounded vehicles requires a payment of up to Dh20,000, in accordance with the emirate’s strict traffic enforcement regulations. The police urged motorists, especially young drivers, to follow road safety rules and refrain from illegal stunts. They warned that strict surveillance and increased patrols would continue to curb reckless driving behavior in the emirate.
