Sharjah restricts travel for construction workers

DUBAI – Construction workers based in Sharjah will not be allowed to travel outside the emirate, according to the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) on Wednesday (April 15). SEDD Chairman Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi said the measure is part of precautions against coronavirus or Covid-19. Under the latest circular, construction workers from other emirates will also not be allowed to enter Sharjah. Those excluded from the directive are workers in the cleaning, food and security industries. When traveling in a company bus, workers must wear masks and maintain a safety distance of 2 metres from each other.
