Sharjah royal Sheikh Sultan bin Khalid bin Muhammad Al Qasimi had died, the Ruler’s Court in Sharjah announced. An official mourning period of three days has been declared across Sharjah, beginning on Tuesday (September 23). During this period, flags at government buildings will be flown at half-mast. Funeral prayers for the late Sheikh Sultan will be held on Tuesday (September 23) at 10am at King Faisal Mosque in Sharjah. Burial will follow at Al Jabil Cemetery, according to the announcement by the office of Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. Condolences for men will be received for three days starting Tuesday at the majlis of Sheikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Muhammad Al Qasimi in the Al Rumaila area of Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan was the nephew of Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Dr. Sultan. He was the son of Sheikh Dr. Sultan's brother, the late Sheikh Khalid bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, who ruled Sharjah from 1965 to 1972. The Ruler’s Court expressed its deepest condolences to the Al Qasimi family and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the deceased eternal mercy and his family solace.
