Sharjah Ruler Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has announced that beginning in January 2023, additional monthly grants will be given to Sharjah retirees of federal entities and other institutions across the UAE and deposited in their bank accounts to ensure a decent living. Sheikh Sultan stated during a phone conversation with Hassan Yaqoub, Secretary General of Sharjah Media Council, on the Direct Line program, which is broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV, that the pension for Sharjah senior retirees who used to work in the Sharjah Government has been raised to allow them to live a decent life. Starting next Monday, about 1,000 retirees from federal bodies and other institutions around the UAE will be added to the Government of Sharjah's payroll, with grants beginning in January 2023. Due to the time required to complete the appropriate procedures, the remaining 3,500 retirees will receive the payments later but will receive them in the whole beginning in January 2023, he noted.
