Sharjah Ruler orders authorities to always prepare ambulances for help
Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, have directed Sharjah Police officers to build an ambulance system capable of delivering injured and sick persons to any location in the UAE for free in the event that the emirate's National Ambulance is delayed. Hassan Yaqoub announced on Tuesday during the 'Direct Line' program, broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV. Earlier, Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi acknowledged on the program that Sharjah Police's ambulances, in collaboration with the Social Services Department, are responsible for transporting sick, older people to any hospital in the UAE. Al Shamsi explained that the cost of equipping an ambulance ranges between Dhs700,000 to Dhs800,000. Its nursing staff is tasked with preparing patients at home and transporting them comfortably until they are admitted to the concerned hospitals.
