A Russian tourist stranded in Sharjah has returned home, thanks to the help of Sharjah Police. A police patrol spotted the Russian sitting under a bridge near the Sharjah International Airport on Friday (May 5). During interrogation, the tourist said that he came to the UAE from Russia for a cycling tour in April, but later faced financial difficulties so he couldn’t book a return flight home. Police helped the Russian tourist come home; arranging a hotel accommodation for him as well as a flight ticket to Russia. The Russian man expressed his thanks to the Sharjah Police and also praised the UAE for being a “country that values happiness, prosperity and well-being for all its inhabitants.” ICA/Expat Media
