Sharjah authorities have debunked claims that a tiger is on the loose in the emirate. The Environment and Protected Areas Authority of Sharjah denied on Saturday (April 27) rumours that the wild animal has been spotted on the streets. The authority warned the public against spreading rumours and to verify information received on social media. Spreading rumours and false news are crimes punishable by the UAE law and can result in penalties of at least one year in prison and a fine of not less than Dh100,000.
