Sharjah's ruler, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, has issued an order to cancel the slots of foreign players at sports tournaments in the emirate. Sheikh Sultan’s directives prioritises national players in the categories of age-based stages and youth stages organized by the UAE Football Association, starting from the season 2023/2024. The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) proceeded to form a supreme committee following the directives of the Ruler of Sharjah Al Qasimi's vision aims to give male and female national players in Sharjah various club opportunities to showcase and improve their skills.
