Sharjah’s real estate sector is set for a major transformation with the launch of the Dh25 billion ($6.8 billion) Ajmal Makan City – Sharjah Waterfront project in Al Hamriyah. The massive 60-million-square-foot development is poised to become a premier residential, commercial, and tourism hub. Sultan Al Shakrah, CEO of Ajmal Makan Real Estate Development, said that the project will accommodate over 60,000 residents across eight islands, blending modern urban living with eco-friendly practices. “Ajmal Makan City will significantly contribute to Sharjah’s real estate sector, create thousands of jobs, and attract local and international investors,” Al Shakrah said. The freehold development includes 1,500 luxury villas and mid-rise buildings and a 3-million-square-foot shopping mall. It will also have a 1.6-million-square-foot theme park, a marina with 800 yacht berths, waterfront restaurants, cafes, and entertainment venues, as well as a university and multiple schools. Ajmal Makan Real Estate Development has already launched three major sub-projects: Al Thuraya Island, The View Island, and Blue Beach Residence. Additionally, the first two phases of Sun Island have been completed, while Blue Bay Walk’s final phases are being handed over ahead of schedule. Sharjah’s coastline will be extended by 36 kilometers, with 60 percent of the project dedicated to green spaces, beaches, and public areas, reinforcing the emirate’s sustainability vision. With its eco-conscious design, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and prime waterfront location, Ajmal Makan City is expected to attract residents, tourists, and investors, further boosting Sharjah’s economic diversification.
