Sharjah villa fire kills woman and child, 3 recovering in hospital

  DUBAI – A woman and a child died after fire erupted in a villa in Sharjah’s Maysaloon area on Monday night, police have confirmed. The police did not disclose further details about the deceased but said that the victims were Asian. Three other people are now recovering at Kuwait Hospital after being treated for smoke inhalation. They include an elderly man who suffered a heart attack, and his daughter and grandson who suffered burns. Police said that the fire spread to a nearby building. An investigation is underway to find out the cause of the blaze.
