A 33-year-old Indian woman and her two-year-old daughter died after falling from the balcony of their 17th-floor apartment in Sharjah, according to reports on Tuesday (April 22) The incident occurred around 4:30pm on Saturday (April 19) in an apartment building in the emirate. According to Sharjah Police, the woman’s husband was asleep inside their home at the time of the incident. Witnesses immediately called the police operations room, prompting a swift response from police patrols, officers from Buhairah Police Station, crime scene investigators, and the National Ambulance. The woman was declared dead at the scene, while her critically injured daughter was rushed to the hospital before succumbing to her injuries about an hour later. Authorities confirmed that the bodies were transferred to the hospital and later to the forensic laboratory for autopsy. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fall was a suicide, though the motive remains unknown. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
