Sharjah’s historic buildings on final list of Islamic world’s heritage sites

Two historic buildings in Sharjah have made it the list of heritage sites in the Islamic world, according to the Sharjah Archaeology Authority (SAA). The Heart of Sharjah and Sharjah Fort have been added to the final list by the Heritage Committee of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO). They are the first first sites in the UAE to be included on the ISESCO list. The listed sites embrace many historical buildings, including the historic Sharjah Fort, commercial markets and historical buildings.
