Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum joined UAE National Guard troops for iftar in Hatta. Sheikh Hamdan, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, shared images of the gathering on X (formerly Twitter). The photos showed him seated alongside soldiers and officers who were on patrol duty, with iftar meal boxes placed before them. During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan engaged with the troops and received a briefing on military operations in the border areas. He also joined them in prayer. The Crown Prince took time to listen to the soldiers' experiences, particularly their sacrifices during Ramadan, a time traditionally spent with family. He acknowledged their unwavering commitment, saying, “Their dedication to safeguarding our borders, even while away from their families during the holy month, is truly remarkable.” Sheikh Hamdan expressed appreciation for those working tirelessly across various sectors to ensure national security and stability. “We deeply appreciate all those who work diligently around the clock to ensure our country continues to be a beacon of stability and prosperity,” he said. His visit highlighted the importance of recognizing the efforts of security personnel, especially those working long hours while fasting. The Dubai Media Office emphasized this in a statement, quoting Sheikh Hamdan: “It is crucial to acknowledge those who continue their work diligently, even through iftar time, to ensure essential services remain uninterrupted for communities across the country.” The visit comes as part of the UAE’s broader efforts to honor its frontline personnel. Earlier this year, several initiatives were launched to support military and security personnel, particularly during Ramadan, including special allowances and welfare programs. Sheikh Hamdan’s presence was met with appreciation from the troops, who welcomed the rare opportunity to share a meal with the Crown Prince. His visit boosted morale, reaffirming the government’s commitment to those safeguarding the nation. ICA/Expat Media
