Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has launched the Erth Dubai Awards, one of the world’s largest initiatives dedicated to preserving cultural heritage, with a grand prize of Dh1 million. In his announcement on X, Sheikh Hamdan wrote: “Every family has a story, and every experience enriches Dubai’s journey. To honour this legacy, we launch the Erth Dubai Awards, one of the world’s largest initiatives celebrating cultural and social heritage.” The awards aim to capture Dubai’s lived stories—family histories, oral heritage, creative narratives and community memories. They also recognize government and private institutions that have contributed to recording Dubai’s legacy.
