Sheikh Hamdan’s Instagram Stories about his new puppy.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince, once again showcased his love for animals and his connection with the public by involving his followers in naming his new puppy. The adorable white-and-grey female pup captured hearts when Sheikh Hamdan shared her photo on Instagram, asking his 16.7 million followers for name suggestions. “Female name please,” he captioned the post, sparking an outpouring of ideas. On Tuesday (November 19), the Crown Prince revealed the winning name: Luna, which means "moon" in Latin. This isn’t the first time Sheikh Hamdan, affectionately known as Fazza, has invited the public to participate in naming his pets. In a similar gesture last year, he sought names for three dogs, ultimately choosing Layl, Mizoon, and Nahar. Fans were delighted by the royal’s engagement, suggesting culturally inspired names like Noor, Dana, and Reem. However, Luna emerged as the top choice, symbolizing the pup’s bright and serene nature. The Crown Prince, known for his compassion for animals, frequently shares moments with his pets, including horses, camels, and falcons. His posts reflect his belief in the importance of kindness toward all creatures. “Sheikh Hamdan’s approach makes us feel closer to him. It’s beautiful how he values public opinion,” Mariam Ali, a Dubai resident and fan, told Expat Media. The puppy’s playful demeanor has already made her a star among Fazza’s followers, who eagerly anticipate more updates on her adventures. ICA/Expat Media
