Alserkal Avenue is no stranger to artistic energy, but over the weekend, its warehouses and galleries welcomed a royal visitor who has long championed Dubai’s cultural evolution. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, toured the district on Saturday (December 6) to witness how its creative institutions continue to shape the city’s cultural landscape. Walking through the vibrant Al Quoz hub, Sheikh Hamdan was updated on the initiatives that help nurture emerging talent, support creative start-ups, and preserve cultural heritage. Today, the district brings together more than 90 creative concepts and galleries, drawing two million visitors each year—a number that reflects its growing global reputation. “I visited creative and cultural institutions in Al Quoz, where Alserkal Avenue has become one of Dubai’s leading cultural destinations,” Sheikh Hamdan said. “The projects I reviewed reflect a sector that is enriching Dubai’s cultural fabric and fostering meaningful connections between cultures.” His visit also highlighted Alserkal Avenue’s alignment with Dubai Social Agenda 33, which prioritises quality of life, creativity, and community spaces that unite people through art and ideas. With artists, entrepreneurs, curators and cultural enthusiasts working side by side, the district continues to evolve as a symbol of Dubai’s vision—a place where creativity is not just displayed, but lived.
