Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road partially closed on weekends for next six months
DUBAI – Two lanes on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road will be closed on weekends starting on Thursday (June 16) until November 16, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Wednesday.
The Sharjah-bound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. on Thursdays until 10 a.m. on Saturdays.
The RTA said that the periodic closures is needed for maintenance works on the asphalt layer of the road.
The first phase of the maintenance work will begin on Thursday between the exits of Arabian Ranches and Global Village. The second phase of the road maintenance work will cover the exit of the Global Village to City of Arabia.
The final phase of the project will stretch from the exit of the City of Arabia to the exit to Al Ain Road, parallel to Falcon City. ICA/Expat Media
