A team of mystery shoppers recently visited a branch of Emirates Post and had some bad news for Dubai’s ruler: poor customer service and long queues of customers in the premises. The service at Emirates Post angered Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who warned staff that they would be removed if their performance is not up to standard. "This is not our level. These are not our services. Whoever provides such level of services will not be in my team," he said in a Twitter post. Sheikh Mohammed also shared the evaluation report on Emirates Post’s poor performance, which includes overcrowding in the premises, “lack of coordinated customer service”, “no proper indications or index linking to the center's efforts to deal with customer satisfaction” and customers waiting for “long periods of time to receive a service”. The Dubai government has been pushing for smart services to eliminate long queues and to streamline government service. Sheikh Mohammed's tweet on Monday was not the first time that he has done surprise inspections at government offices. In 2016, he visited various government departments and was disappointed to find that some senior officials were not present during the early morning surprise inspection.  GAD/Expat Media
