Motorists in Dubai faced major road closures on Sunday (November 10), as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) made temporary closures for the Dubai Ride event. Several key routes, including parts of Sheikh Zayed Road, were shut down from 3:30am. According to the RTA, the routes will reopen at 10am. The affected section of Sheikh Zayed Road spans from the Trade Centre Roundabout to the second bridge. Additionally, Lower Financial Centre Road, connecting Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Khail Road, and a one-way closure on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard will also be in effect. To minimize disruptions, the RTA has advised motorists to use alternative routes such as Al Mustaqbal Road, Al Wasl Road, and Al Khail Road during the closures. Dubai Ride participants will have exclusive access to these areas, providing a safe environment for cyclists to enjoy the iconic Sheikh Zayed Road. Organized as part of the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge, Dubai Ride has become a popular event, attracting thousands of residents who celebrate the city’s push toward a more active lifestyle.
