The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. ARCHIVE
In the last 16 years, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has welcomed more than 67 million visitors since it first opened to the public in December 2007. The popular tourist attraction in Abu Dhabi is considered a hub for promoting tolerance, coexistence, and the rich cultural, Islamic, Arab, and local heritage. To celebrate its 16th anniversary, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has launched the (Sura) Evening Cultural Tours Initiative. These tours are available to visitors throughout the night, allowing the mosque to be accessible 24 hours a day. This allows visitors on transit in Abu Dhabi to visit the mosque even during their limited time in the emirate. Participants of these tours will have the privilege of discovering new facets of the mosque that were previously unseen, such as periodic maintenance and exceptional cleaning work. Visitors can book a tour via the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center website.
