Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has confirmed her engagement to Moroccan-American rapper French Montana. On Sheikha Mahra’s official Instagram account, the royal shared a sparkling close-up of a diamond engagement ring and tagged the rapper, leaving no room for speculation.

According to People magazine, French Montana, 40, proposed to the Emirati princess two months ago. A press release shared with the outlet reportedly stated: “Representatives confirm that while wedding plans are underway, specific dates and arrangements are still being finalised by both families, who are reportedly excited and supportive.” The pair were first spotted together in Dubai last year during Montana’s visit to the emirate. At the time, Sheikha Mahra posted a series of photos with the rapper, which were initially dismissed as casual moments of friendship. Their romance, however, became public in June this year when they appeared hand-in-hand at Paris Fashion Week. Sheikha Mahra is the daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. For Sheikh Mahra, the engagement signals a new chapter following her short-lived marriage to Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum. The couple tied the knot in a lavish Dubai wedding in June 2023 and welcomed a daughter, also named Mahra, on May 2, 2024. However, just two months later, the princess publicly announced their split in a strikingly candid Instagram post. At the time, she wrote: “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you. I divorce, and I divorce you. Take care.
