Meet Gerald Anderson and Barbie Imperial

This will be your chance to get up close and personal with Gerald Anderson and Barbie Imperial, who will add star power to the Filipino festival. Organizer Infinite Communities revealed to Expat Media that Gerald and Barbie will join the opening parade and will remain at the venue for more special appearances, including a song performance by Barbie and a basketball game with Gerald.

There will be a Sports Festival featuring men’s basketball and men’s and women’s volleyball. Champion teams will compete for the ultimate trophy.

Get your UAE employment contract verified

If you don’t have time to head to the consulate or embassy, you can get some essential services done at the venue. The Migrant Workers Office will offer services such as employment contract verification and renewal of your SSS or PAG-IBIB membership. You can also approach the help desk of the Assistance To Nationals for help with other OFW issues.

Shop local at the bazaar

Get your hands on Filipino arts, crafts and products that will be on display at the bazaar.

Go on a food trip

The Shukran Festival is certainly going to be a giant food trip with many of your favourite Filipino food and deserts for sale at the various food stalls.

Meet more VIP guests

Members of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Department, Philippine Embassy and Philippine Consulate General Dubai and Northern Emirates will be around, and it will be your chance to see and perhaps get the chance to strike a conversation on the sidelines.

And lastly, all these and more that you can see and do at Shukran Festival are absolutely free of cost! So head to Horizon International School in Dubai on December 9 because entrance is free! ICA/Expat Media
