A six-year-old Emirati boy named Issa drowned in a water tank near his family’s home in Al Ain, according to local media reports on Friday (November 7). Issa’s mother discovered him floating in the tank after his father had left for work, believing the children were safely playing in the courtyard. Despite efforts by neighbors and emergency responders, the boy was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Issa’s father, an imam and Quran teacher, recounted the heartbreaking moments before the tragedy: “Less than an hour after I left, I received a call from my wife screaming that Issa had died.” The young boy was a Grade 1 student at Mohammed Bin Khalid School. His sister, Maryam, had been playing with him moments before he fell into the tank.
