Smart Dubai car scans for parking ticket violations
DUBAI – A smart car fitted with 24 cameras powered by artificial intelligence was launched in Dubai on Sunday (January 24) to scan vehicles for parking ticket violations. The smart car can monitor and read number plates of vehicles to detect whether or not they have e-ticket violations in paid parking zones. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said that the smart car can run up to a speed of 80km per hour with an accuracy rate of more than 99 percent. Maitha Bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA said the smart initiative will help streamline and control the use of public parking in Dubai. There are currently 190,000 paid parking slots in Dubai.
