SHARJAH – Speeding motorists who dodge detection by only slowing down when approaching road sections with radars are in for a big surprise.
Sharjah Traffic Police said that upgraded radars will soon be installed to detect motorists who speed between radars.
Sharjah’s new super radars will calculate the average speed of a vehicle between two radars using a new speed enforcement technique called “section control”.
The system will be used to monitor accident-prone stretches of roads, including Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
The police, however, did not reveal when the new radars will begin to operate.
