SMS from Sheikh Hamdan surprises UAE residents
DUBAI – A single SMS from Dubai's crown prince surprised UAE residents on Wednesday. "I challenge you to join Dubai Fitness Challenge," Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum said in the text message, which includes a link to the Dubai Fitness Challenge website. The user appeared as Faz3, the name that Sheikh Hamdan uses on his popular Instagram account. The challenge encourages people to take up 30 minutes of exercise for 30 days until November 18. The month-long initiative aims to make Dubai the "most active city in the world" with more than 1,500 fitness activities that people can join for free. On October 20 and 21 at Safa Park, activities and events include appearances by former England football captain Rio Ferdinand and local celebrities, as well as performances by La Perle and XDubai’s Skydive team.
