Snakes, mosquitos plague luxury Dubai community

DUBAI – Residents of luxury Dubai community Living Legends are crying foul over the increasing number of snakes and mosquitos spotted in the development. There are around 500 residents in the development, which is located near Al Barari off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Residents have complained of vermin and snakes creeping into houses and gardens, The National reported. Jamal Guergour, a property owner, shared photos of snakes in the compound. In one photo, a saw-scaled viper is seen dangling from a plastic stick. Another one is seen near a wall. Residents say that adding to the problem are sewers that remain unsealed, and temporary boundary fences that have been eroded by sand dunes. Property developer Tanmiyat has apologized and said work is underway to tackle the issues, including a lack of streetlights, landscaping, and delays in water and electricity connections, The National reported. Living Legends, a Dh1.2 billion project launched in 2006, was scheduled for completion in 2010. Construction, however, is still ongoing, with six towers to be built in the community.
