DUBAI – Ahead of the soft opening of Dubai's biggest wildlife sanctuary, Dubai Safari gave a preview of the project on Sunday. Hussein Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality and other officials took a tour of the sanctuary to review the final setup before its soft opening on December 12.The 119-hectare Dubai Safari located in Dubai's Al Warqaa district off the Dubai-Hatta highway will be home to some of the world's exotic animals. On its first phase, Dubai Safari will be home to around 3,500 animals. The area will have four sections: African, Asian and Arabian Villages and an open safari featuring a valley and wadi area. Dubai Safari will have a 1,000-capacity theatre for shows and activities, with an energy production park and an interactive play area for children. There will also be themed cafes and restaurants, a veterinary hospital and research centre with a state-of-the art laboratory. Entrance to the Dubai Safari will be free for children under the age of 3 or for adults above the age of 60, as well as for people with special needs.
