Slice of Spain in Dubai: Lola Taberna Espanola
DUBAI – Authentic Spanish drinks and dishes flowed on our table faster than I could say “como esta” at Lola Taberna Espanola, a delightful taberna (pub) in Dubai’s Barsha Heights. So there we were, sitting in their al fresco dining area during a recent visit by Expatmedia.net to try their Domingueo, a set menu that promised a “Sunday like a Spaniard”. It was definitely a slice of Spain in Dubai, and we loved the relaxed atmosphere along with the amazing dishes and drinks that followed.Everything was a hit, particularly their mixed Iberian charcuterie, which we demolished in no time! The thin slices of premium meat were melt-in-your-mouth. Definitely one of the highlights of the visit. The starters were also a welcome bite. We had creamy Spanish omelette and fried cheese croquettes. Wonderful combination of textures that offered a hint of the good things to come. The seafood paella was also worth the wait, and came with a demo from the server on how to use the spatula to scrape off the delicious rice parts stuck to the sizzling pan. We also couldn’t resist the churros for dessert, although it was a little too crispy for my taste. A dunk into the warm chocolate made it all better. All in all, Lola Taberna Espanola came through with good food, amazing service and great ambiance that left us saying at the end of our visit: “Another serving, por favor”.@expatmedia Sunday vibe at Lola Taberna Espanola, a delightful Spanish taberna with great tapas, signature Spanish dishes and traditional drinks. #dubaifoodie ♬ Tiny Room - Arthur Hill
