  DUBAI – More details were revealed on Sunday following the death of veteran Indian actress Sridevi in Dubai. She was 54. Authorities were preparing to expedite her repatriation to India, and her remains are scheduled to arrive there on Monday. According to reports, business tycoon Anil Ambani has offered to fly her remains on his private jet from Dubai. Sridevi died of a suspected cardiac arrest at Jumeirah Emirates Towers late on Saturday night. Sources said the actress was found dead in the bathroom.

Sridevi was preparing for dinner date

A source close to the family told Khaleej Times that Sridevi was preparing for a dinner date with her husband, Boney Kapoor, who flew back from Mumbai to Dubai for the surprise. When she failed to come out after 15 minutes, Boney sensed something was wrong and checked on her. When she did not respond, Boney forced the door open and found the actress inside a bathtub filled with water, the source said. Paramedics who responded to the emergency call pronounced her dead. Her body was taken to the General Department of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy. As of Sunday night, there was no information regarding her autopsy results. The Indian consulate, however, said the Dubai Police is preparing a forensic report. Meanwhile, Sridevi’s body is currently at the police headquarters morgue in Al Ghusais. The body is expected to be released to Sridevi's family at 10:30am on Monday. The actress, her husband and their daughter, Khushi, were in Dubai after attending the wedding of actor Mohit Marwah in Ras Al Khaimah. Marwah is Sridevi’s nephew. On Sunday, the Kapoor family has issued a statement saying: “Boney Kapoor, Jhanvi, Khushi and the entire Kapoor, Ayyappan and Marwah family is deeply bereaved and shocked with the untimely loss of Sridevi Kapoor.
