Strong winds lash UAE, unstable weather expected until Saturday

  DUBAI – Strong winds kicked up dust across the UAE on Friday (February 17) as unstable weather conditions continued to affect the country. Scattered rainfall is also expected, particularly in the coastal areas and inland, according to the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS). The NCMS said that strong winds will continue on Friday night and Saturday morning. Seas will be rough to very rough by late night in the Arabian Gulf and moderate becoming rough at times in Oman Sea. On Saturday, the cloudy weather will decrease gradually, with some rainfall forecast in parts of the country during daytime. Winds will be strong at times, blowing up dust and sand and reducing visibility. The sea will be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and rough in Oman Sea. On Sunday, the weather is forecast to be fair to partly cloudy in general. Winds will be moderate in strength, but may still stir up dust and sand, according to the weather bureau.
