A car flipped over in a sandy area beside Hatta-Lahbab Road. DUBAI POLICE.

Identities of the students involved in a tragic car accident on Hatta-Lahbab road on Tuesday were revealed, confirming that the student who was killed was only 7 years old. Mohammed Ahnaf, a Bangladeshi Grade 2 student at a Dubai-based Indian school was one of the 12 passengers packed into the car, which swerved, crashed into an iron barrier, and flipped over. The boy's younger brother was also in the same car and was discharged on Wednesday after receiving treatment for sustained injuries. The children's uncle shared that the young boy was "very upset" after learning what happened to his older brother. He also disclosed the nationality of other students, claiming that some of them were Indian, but he confirmed that he did not really know them. According to Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Acting Commandant Assistant for Operations Affairs, initial investigations suggest that the accident was caused by speeding, negligence, and the driver’s lack of attention. Mohammed Ahnaf's family is currently doing all of the paperwork to get his body back to Bangladesh. They were also told that the driver is currently in jail. FLE/Expat Media
