UAE: Sultan approves the construction of 434-unit housing for citizens

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved the construction of a 434-unit housing complex in Al Hari, Khorfakkan, at a cost of Dh 430 million. The complex, which is expected to be finished in two years, is part of the Emirate of Sharjah's development programs, which aim to provide a good living for Sharjah's residents. Eng. Khalifa Al Tunaiji, the Head of Sharjah's Housing Department, disclosed this on Monday (March 28), on the radio show "Direct Line." Al Tunaiji indicated that the housing units would be divided into several categories, including two-story flats and accommodation for low-income families. He further mentioned that these housing kinds cater to the existing diversity in terms of family divisions and numbers. "This project is among a series of projects that will be carried out under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, who previously directed to construct 4,400 units in the emirate,” he added. His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah approved the promotion of 236 officers and 1,600 non-commissioned officers from the Sharjah Police Department. Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, expressed gratitude for the support provided by Sharjah Ruler, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, and added that non-commissioned officers make up 35-40% of Sharjah Police in an interview with the Direct Line Programme, which was broadcast live on Sharjah Broadcasting Authority. According to Sharjah Police's administrative directives, up to 1,600 non-commissioned officers would be elevated from the first policeman to the first adjutant, beginning today. A total of 236 officers, including 8 first lieutenants, two captains, and four majors, will be promoted to the next rank, he said, adding that a detailed study on senior officers would be submitted to Sharjah Ruler for promotion of officers from lieutenant colonel to colonel from the federal and local staff. There is no need to be concerned about the procedure for telling the recipients of the present promotion process, according to Al Shamsi, because they will receive special communications or direct contacts from the department of human resources to that effect. Separately, on Monday (March 29) morning at the Ruler's Office, the Sharjah Urban Planning Council (SUPC) met under the chairmanship of Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the SUPC. The meeting covered a variety of topics, including urban planning policies and the implementation of high-quality projects in road networks, utilities, and buildings to improve Sharjah's civilized image by implementing integrated friendly-environment projects that achieve social stability and flexible mobility. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi emphasized the comprehensiveness of Sharjah's urban development and infrastructure plans and strategies in order to maintain the emirate's civilized position as an integrated emirate in terms of infrastructure and facilities suitable for all segments of society, as well as to strengthen Sharjah's environmental role in preserving the environment's components. Under the guidance and supervision of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Crown Prince praised the efforts of all government departments and bodies working on infrastructure planning and development, as well as the implementation of the best development projects. He emphasized the importance of coordination and follow-up among the authorities involved in development projects in order to provide them with the services they require in order to keep up with current development and consider future goals.
