An employee of a supermarket in Dubai’s Karama area is now wanted for stealing Dh80,000 in gold jewellery from his manager’s apartment. A court in Dubai sentenced the man in absentia for theft, while is accomplice is now on trial for aiding in the crime. According to reports, the employee duplicated the key to the manager’s apartment, and then broke into the residence when his manager went away on holiday. Police said the man then left the stolen jewellery and his manager’s passport at his friend’s house for safekeeping before he fled the country. Police were able to track down and arrest the man’s friend, and retrieve the stolen gold jewellery and passport. The trial for the accomplice continues. ICA/Expat Media
