Survey reveals where 86% of UAE residents plan to travel in 2021, 2022

  DUBAI – As global travel demand increased, a new survey has revealed where thousands of UAE residents plan to travel this year and in 2022. According to the survey by dnata Travel, 86 percent of UAE residents plan to travel abroad, with 56 percent planning to head to Europe on their next holiday. More than 50 percent of respondents said they will stay in Europe for one week up to two weeks, a significant increase compared to an average of four-day stays in previous years. According to the survey, the top five most sought-after destinations in Europe for 2021/2022 holidays with UAE residents include Switzerland, UK, Italy, Greece, and Georgia. “Much of Europe has eased restrictions for vaccinated travellers offering a wealth of options, with something for every type of traveller, from beach retreats to island escapes and city breaks," explained Emily Jenkins, Head of Leisure UAE at dnata Travel. Outside of Europe, survey respondents expressed interest in planning travel to Asia, with Thailand making up the vast majority, followed by the Middle East, North America, and Indian Ocean.
