The Earth's temperature has changed in ways that have never been seen before in recent years, leading to the birth of a new age known as "global boiling." Here are some tips to keep yourself safe:

Wear sunscreen

Using a high-SPF sunscreen is the best defense against sunburn and the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays.

Stay covered

You can protect your skin from the sun's rays physically by wearing lots of clothing. Make sure to wear long sleeve shirts and long pants. Wearing a hat can also protect your face, ears, and neck. And don't forget the sunglasses, for eye protection.

Seek shade

Find a shade at the peak of the heat of the sun, especially between 10am and 4pm, when the sun's rays are most intense. You can also use an umbrella to stay protected.

Drink lots of water

Drink plenty of water everyday, even if you're not thirsty to avoid dehydration and heat stroke.

Stay cool

Use air conditioning, fans, or cooling centers, to help manage the heat of the sun.

Check the UV Index

The UV Index can be found in weather forecast apps. It indicates the intensity of the sun's UV rays for the day. The range of the scale is from zero (low) to 11+ (extreme).

Stay informed

To prepare for heat waves and make the necessary preparations for safety and comfort, stay informed about weather forecasts and advisories. JG/Expat Media
