Suspect in scamming disabled man in Ajman arrested

  AJMAN - A suspect accused of defrauding a Sudanese man of an undisclosed amount has been arrested, police said. Police did not reveal details about the suspect's identity. However, Ajman Police said that they have recovered and handed over the money to the Sudanese victim. Rifa'at Al Haji told police that a man borrowed money from him and gave him a cheque as a guarantee. When he cashed the cheque, it bounced. He was unable to contact the borrower after the latter disappeared. He called the police to complain after he realised that he had been scammed. An Ajman Police officer was sent to the home of Al Haji, a special needs person, to assist him in lodging a complaint. Following investigations, police were able to track down the suspect and recover Al Haji's money.
