Marathoner agrees to comply with the federation's rules and participate in the training

  MANILA – All's well that ends well. After being dropped from the national pool for allegedly causing friction within the federation, the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA) reinstated Olympian and Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) medalist Mary Joy Tabal to the national pool and will join the Philippine delegation to the SEAG in Kuala Lumpur in August. This after Tabal agreed to comply with conditions set by a committee in order for her to rejoin the national team. In a statement, the PATAFA said Tabal agreed to comply with the federation's rules and regulations, train with a federation-appointed coach identified as Rene Herrera, report to the federation upon her return from a training stint in Italy for training for the SEAG, and drop a complaint she filed before the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) against PATAFA. "We look forward to Ms. Tabal working with the entire PATAFA team as a positive contributor to the victories that the 33 other members of the athletics team are well on their way to achieving for the country and the Filipino people," the association also said. Tabal competed in last year's Olympics in Rio where she landed in 124th place and won a silver medal at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) in Singapore. Meanwhile, the Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas Inc. (LVPI) announced the members of the women's volleyball team that will compete in Kuala Lumpur. They are: Mika Reyes, Alyssa Valdez, Denden Lazaro, Kim Fajardo, Rhea Dimculangan, Maika Ortiz, Gen Casugod, Aby Marano, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Jaja Santiago and Ces Molina. The reserve players are Rachel Anne Daquis and Dawn Macandili. Francis Vicente is the team coach.
