Tailgating causes Dubai truck crash that killed 2

Two people were killed after a driver of a pickup truck crashed into another truck while tailgating the vehicle on Friday (August 11), according to Dubai Police. The incident, which also left two other people injured, happened on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road at 5:35am. “Preliminary information revealed that the cause of the accident was the pickup driver's failure to leave enough distance between the vehicles,” said Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, deputy director of Dubai Police’s general traffic department. It is not known if those killed or injured were the passengers or drivers. Police did not give further details about the two fatalities. Meanwhile, the two injured people are being treated at a hospital, police said.
