The Dubai Police said it recorded an average emergency response time of 2 minutes and 24 seconds this quarter. Major General Pilot Ahmad Muhammad bin Thani, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Ports Affairs at Dubai Police, commended the role of police in maintaining the city’s security and for achieving the “impressive” emergency response time. Dubai Police said that the 999 emergency hotline received over 2.23 million calls, of which 2.20 million were answered within 10 seconds. In the US, the average police response time for a 911 call varies based on the city, but times have been reported from as quick as 3 minutes. In the UK, the Greater Manchester Police is the fastest force at answering emergency calls, according to national records, with an average speed of four seconds.
