A groundbreaking new attraction, TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, is set to open on April 18 in Saadiyat Cultural District, offering visitors a multi-sensory journey through immersive digital art experiences. Spanning 17,000 square meters, the purpose-built facility will house massive experiential artworks that engage sight, sound, and touch, redefining the boundaries of art, technology, and nature. The project is the latest initiative from teamLab, the internationally renowned Tokyo-based art collective known for its innovative digital installations. Tickets for TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi can be purchased at teamlababudhabi.com. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, described teamLab as the “perfect partner” to create an experience that merges artistic exploration with cutting-edge technology. “TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi will offer an immersive journey that sparks infinite curiosity and imagination in all who visit,” Al Mubarak said. “At the intersection of art, technology, and nature, it will create a world of limitless wonder and creativity. Through these multi-sensory explorations, we are inspiring new generations of innovators, thinkers, and creators from Abu Dhabi and beyond.” The attraction is operated by Miral Experiences, a subsidiary of Miral, which specializes in immersive destinations and experiences in Abu Dhabi. Toshiyuki Inoko, founder of teamLab, explained the unique approach: “Unlike traditional artworks, which exist independently, the installations at TeamLab Phenomena are created by the environment itself. The environment produces the phenomena, and the phenomena maintain the existence of the artwork. Let us call that existence ‘environmental phenomena’.” TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is a key addition to Saadiyat Cultural District, which is set to become the world’s largest hub for cultural and educational institutions. The district is already home to Louvre Abu Dhabi, Manarat Al Saadiyat, and Berklee Abu Dhabi, with upcoming landmarks such as Zayed National Museum, Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
