Temperature in UAE to hit 49 degrees Celsius this week

  Medical experts at Dubai Health Authority (DHA) issued precautions to residents in the UAE of the effects of the hot weather that is expected to affect the UAE this week. The National Center for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) expects temperatures to reach between 45 and 49 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels reaching a maximum of 90 percent in internal areas and 95 percent along the coast. Dr. Fadi Moborrak Senior Specialties, ER, at Dubai Hospital, said that heat exhaustion, on serious cases, might cause headache, rapid breathing, altered mental behaviour, and fainting. Doctors advised that infants, children, and the elderly are prone to this including heat stroke. Dr. Sara Kazim, Consultant Emergency Physician at Rashid Hospital, advised residents to avoid sports and outdoor activities between 9am to 6pm and wear lightweight and light-coloured clothes. She also advised the public to drink lots of fluids and juices.
