Looking for a dining experience that will take your taste buds on an adventure? Look no further than Tenggara at Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel. This restaurant offers a fusion feast that’s well worth discovering or rediscovering. The moment our team from Expat Media walked in, we were welcomed by a chic yet cozy atmosphere. With modern décor touched with Southeast Asian flair, Tenggara feels stylish but not stuffy—a perfect spot for a casual dinner with friends or a special date night.

A warm welcome

From the second we stepped inside, the staff at Tenggara made us feel right at home. Their service was just the right balance of being helpful but never overbearing. The waitstaff knew their stuff and gave us great recommendations that shaped our meal in the best way possible. Dishes took a bit of time to be served from kitchen to table, but well worth the wait. The restaurant's spacious layout lets you enjoy your meal in comfort, whether you’re after a bit of privacy or looking to chat across the table. The relaxed vibe made it a perfect setting for our evening.

Let the feast begin

We kicked off our meal with appetizers that set the bar high. First up was the Chicken and Prawn Siew Mai—steamed dumplings that were juicy and packed with flavor. Then came the XO Fried Radish Cake, crispy on the outside with a soft, tasty inside—an ideal blend of textures. The Tom Yam Goong, a Thai hot and sour soup, delivered just the right amount of spice, tang, and aroma, warming us up for the main event. For the mains, we dove into Tenggara’s standout dishes, and boy, were we in for a treat! The Crispy Chili Beef hit the spot with tender beef strips in a perfectly spiced sauce. Next was the Salted Egg Yolk Chicken, where succulent pieces of chicken were coated in a creamy, indulgent salted egg batter that was utterly satisfying. Seafood lovers, you’ll be happy to know that both the Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp and Squid were fresh, cooked just right, and paired with that deliciously rich salted egg yolk  batter. For a lighter bite, the Pak Choi with Black Fungus and Tofu offered earthy flavors and a nice crunch. And to complete the mains, the Hokkien Char Kway Teow, a smoky stir-fried noodle dish, was a showstopper. Of course, no Asian fusion meal would be complete without sushi and sashimi, and Tenggara’s platter delivered freshness and flavor in every bite. The sushi was expertly made, and the sashimi practically melted in our mouths. We ended our meal on a high note with two delightful desserts. The Mango Sago was a refreshing treat, with the mango puree and sago pearls—light, sweet, and refreshing. The Japanese Cheesecake, light and fluffy, was the perfect final indulgence, leaving us with big smiles.
