Test to rid Dubai of rude taxi drivers - prospective taxi drivers to undergo language, psychological exams

  DUBAI – To reduce customer complaints, prospective taxi drivers will now be required to undergo linguistic, psychological and behavioural tests before they will be issued professional permits. The move is part of the Roads and Transport's (RTA) objective of reducing customers' complaints about taxi drivers to 1 percent per 100,000km. The RTA has managed to reduce the number of complaints from 2.7 percent in the past to 1.4 percent per 100,000km. The language test will be given by the British Council.
