DUBAI – Sharjah's accident-prone highway will be partially closed to traffic for two weeks starting on November 3, according to the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The RTA said that the closure of Al Ittihad Road will allow the construction of a pedestrian footbridge near Ansar Mall, connecting the Al Nahda area with Al Mamzar across Al Ittihad Road. The Sharjah RTA said that Al Ittihad Road will be partially closed from November 3 to 10, from 3am to 9am.Al Ittihad Road, which connects Dubai to Sharjah, has seen a high number of pedestrian deaths over the years.
